The Local Studio is a full service turn-key Interior Design firm specializing in unique and functional luxe spaces. The success of this studio is not only a tribute to our collaborative creativity, but also our high level of organization and communication. Our team implements a calculated step by step process that results in truly satisfying and awestriking results. All of the projects we undertake share an attention to detail and material at both the large and the small scale, a thorough engagement of the clients involved, and a profound connection of buildings to their natural contexts. We implement a biophilic design approach, source the best quality finishes and fixtures, and really value the importance of both functionality and aesthetic of a build.
Principal of The Local Studio, Kate moved to Muskoka in 2016 and has since fallen in love with the relaxed, beautiful, lakeshore lifestyle and all the architecture intertwined within it. She is continuously inspired by nature and implements the biophilic design approach in her process to ensure her clients well-being and connection to their surroundings. Kate has a Bachelor of Interior Design and is an active member of the Association of Registered Interior Design (ARIDO). She is passionate about continuously learning and seeking out new materials and design techniques.
Born and raised in Northern Ontario Allyson grew up in the heart of cottage country. She is a skilled Sr. Interior Designer who brings a perfect mix of artistic flair and technical know-how to the table. Graduating with a Bachelor of Interior Design Honours degree Allyson takes pride in a well thought-out design strategy. She looks at plans from the inside out and emphasizes how each space should function and harmonize with one another. Detailing spaces with the user in mind to create a functional ‘happy place’ for clients is what drives her design vision. In her free time, you can find Allyson enjoying a nice glass of red with the company of her friends and family.
Born and raised in Muskoka, Kenzie is the glue that holds The Local Studio together. As the Operations Manager, Kenzie skillfully manages the company and client relations with ease and professionalism. She also works closely with Principal, Kate Sadler, and the entire design team to ensure efficient delivery of all Studio projects. When Kenzie isn’t working, you can find her out on hikes with her French Bulldog Otis, working out, or volunteering at Just 4 Kicks Dance Academy. Fun fact, Kenzie was a professional dancer and competed for Team Canada at the World Nationals in Poland, bringing home three gold medals for Canada. Kenzie understands the value of client satisfaction and strives to make everyone feel important.
Growing up in Aurora, Ontario, and a cottager on Lake of Bays, Danielle decided to make a permanent move up North after graduating from the Interior Design Advanced Diploma Program at Fanshawe College. She has a strong understanding of form and function and an innate eye for creating tailored spaces. With extensive knowledge in quality furnishings, textiles and custom millwork, combined with innovative stylish ideas, Danielle highly values constructing unique yet timeless designs for every client. Outside the office you can find her hiking Muskoka with her furry four legged best friend.
