Project Manager - Interior Construction
We are a luxury interior design firm known for crafting bespoke spaces with precision, creativity, and excellence. We are looking for a proactive Construction Project Manager to join our all-hands-on-deck environment and oversee the construction phase of our projects.
Position Overview:
The Construction Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact during the construction phase, ensuring seamless communication between trades, vendors, clients, and the design team. This role requires deep knowledge of construction processes, superior organizational skills, and a passion for delivering luxury interiors on time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Coordination:
Review all plans, interior construction packages, details, and orders before issuing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with the design team to identify potential construction challenges and propose solutions before project commencement.
Construction Management:
Act as the first responder for all trade and on-site construction inquiries, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
Coordinate with the design team on any required design changes, ensuring approved solutions align with the design vision and standards.
Conduct regular site visits at critical construction stages to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with project timelines.
Vendor and Logistics Management:
Follow up with vendors on all placed orders, confirming delivery timelines to ensure materials and furnishings are available when needed on-site.
Transport items from the warehouse to the construction site, when required, ensuring they meet the firm’s standards before delivery.
Client Communication:
Manage client expectations regarding project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Provide biweekly to monthly project updates to clients, highlighting milestones, addressing concerns, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in project management within the interior design or luxury residential/commercial construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction documentation standards, building codes, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in design and project management software (e.g., Revit, Google Suite, Programma, Adobe and Xero).
Proven experience in project management, specifically within the interior design or construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction processes, interior architectural details, and luxury finishes.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, vendors, and trades.
Proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits and deliveries.
Teamwork
Asks questions for clarity, keep team informed of progress
Maintain and track hours on project work
Communicate any deviation with Project Lead
Communicate with Project Lead regularly, alerting them of possible problems or conflicts with project specs, drawings, vendor delays, etc.
When required, candidate must make site trips to assist with scope of work required for the project in question
Attend and assist with project installations
